first day at APF office Jaipur

Day 1: 21/05/2012 I reached office by 9:00 AM sharp, Ms. Vinay Kashyap, Librarian was near to gate and welcomed me, I felt happy and smiled. Then I met Mr. Ankur Jain, finance, who is very helping and Mr. Milan Soni, IT. First few hours were normal and I spent some time in library reading “Champak” and talking with Ms. Vinay. I met with Ms. Tanu Gupta she was involved in theatre workshop with Abhishek, I went downstairs to see the workshop. I met with Mr. Abhishek. In workshop Children’s were doing different activities under the guidance of Mr. Abhishek. Mirror activity was interesting and with lots of fun. Group activity was good to build the confidence and to remove the stage fear. I think the children’s of this generation are more intelligent than previous years. At 1:00 PM I got lunch, I was very hungry so ate 5 chapatis and rice. Food was good. Then I met Mr. Gautam Pandey, state head and discussed the different aspects of the foundation also discussed about my long and short term goals. We discussed the current scenario of education system and challenges, Why the people like us are needed for the society. Ms. Tanu sent me mail on science workshop; it was nice to see such an innovative works done by the foundation. This is 5:30 and I’m waiting for 6 or 6:30…………….. to go back to the house. Vinay Kumar

Landing into Azim Premji Foundation

Like any Engineering student we, the Professors of Engineering college were also frustrated, I was working for last 2 years as a professor in AIET alwar, Rajasthan, but I was not getting much salary nor increment... please don't laugh my salary was only 10375. so I thought I will leave the job hence I was trying for some job. I applied for HLL, ESIC and APF that is Azim Premji Foundation. why I applied for this is just the compensation 25000 two and a half times than what I was getting that was exciting for me. I don't had any idea of what work I have to do here, just I thought something related to Azim Premji a big person obviously because of Wipro. I had tried for Wipro twice once in my college campus where I didn't cleared the enterview round and again in 2010 in Delhi for Wipro BPO where I didn't cleared even the first round also.
unfortunately or fortunately I didn't cleared the written test of HLL and enterview of ESIC and landed into APF. whoever asked to me where you are going to join I said in wipro because I didn't had any idea of APF that time. here after joining I came to know that its an NGO working for the education of poor people.
first interesting thing about this job is FLIGHT ticket to come to Bangalore, ahhaaa..... it was SPICEJET on 15th April from New Delhi to Bangalore. Gudiya came to airport to drop me out.
5 members of APF came together from Delhi, I was one of them. I was surprised to hear that the bus fare from Bangalore airport to our destination guest house at Electronic city was RS 240. it was too much I had discussion with driver of volvo bus that in Delhi the maximum fare is RS 25 only. that Driver said that we have(in Bangalore) more than 500 that TATA Marcopolo bus which is running in Delhi. Boss... I don't care whether I'm travelling in TATA's bus or in VOLVO's the thing that matters is the no of bucks I have to pay.
ok so any how we reached to the Wipro's guest house at Electronic city by 8 PM. it was such a nice place clean and rich. I got a room sharing with ........... a Kerala Person. I forget his name, sorry for that.
I was tired because I had travelled more than 3000 KM so far, so I slept early. next morning we reached to our training centre at Wipro Learning Center at Sarjapur on the bus arranged by APF. they are caring too much, a lot of thanks to them, I think they cann help society.
first person I saw was Mr. moorthy, he helped us to get gate passes and guided us to get inside the huge campus of Wipro Learning Centre. inside the Learning center I saw Mr. Sridhar a very noble, soft speaking and knowledgeble person. He is going to retie very soon still he is eagre to learn the things.... ohhhh he is really such a kind person.
then I introduced by my batch mates for fellowship program. previously I thought I am going in a wrong place where other people from art background are there, but my thought changed when I saw some high profile people from banking sector and some from IIT's and IIM's.
this APF has almost 700 people working for the education of underpriviledged society. Azim Premji University is established to prepare the talented persons who want to work in the same area of development.
after 6 days of induction program I have the broad idea about this Foundation. Mr. Giri is very friendly and intelligent person working for Azim Premji University.
one more thing the Dinner and Morning breakfast served at Wipro Guest house is fantastic.. hope I will get my muscles thicker.
now I am a part of this fantastic organisation and hope I will contribute for the development of our society.
